| Can't empty recycle bin Keep getting error message: "The instruction at 0x7c91a7ff referenced memory at 0x78e5c973. Memory could not be read." I've searched Microsoft Knowledge Base but came up empty. Anyone have any ideas? This is for a friend who is on XP. Thanks in advance for any help. -- Read about the dangers of alcohol, so I gave up reading. |

| Re: Can't empty recycle bin See if this fixes the problem... How to Repair the WinXP Recycle Bin 1. Open the Run box and enter: cmd 2. In the command window, type: attrib -s -h recycler <ENTER> then rd /s c:\recycled <ENTER> 3. Download Doug Knox's recycbin-2.reg file: Info: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/rec_bin.htm Download: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts/recycbin-2.reg 4. Double-click it or right-click and merge it into the registry. 5. Restart your computer. ju.c "©LarryEº" <LarryE@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F3805DEC-6205-446B-B490-E1213283278B@microsoft.com... > Keep getting error message: > > "The instruction at 0x7c91a7ff referenced memory at 0x78e5c973. For what it's worth I use Eraser http://www.heidi.ie/node/6 instead of the delete recycle bin, and it's free. I have no connection with them except for using Eraser. http://www.wowway.com/~helmsman/ |
