How do you change the default folder IE7 downloads pictures to?

I've tried regedit : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer

String Value= Download Directory
Data Value= C:\"Path to Directory"

.... with no success.

Looks like Microsoft screwed up as usual when it comes
To User Interface in their popular browser.

I tested out what you are talking about on the other computer
(I HATE IE7 so I do not have it installed on my system)
Anyway.
I saved a Picture to another location
Then closed and reopened IE, and it is still saving to the same location
As Prior My Pictures.

So. It seems that the default Registry location gets re-written everytime
That the browser is closed.
So, in this case.
Either go back to using IE6 (Where this issue is not)
Using a Download program. Orbitdownloader (I user, great program)
Or
IE7 Pro http://www.ie7pro.com/

Ignoring the references to OE...

Download the attached .vbs file fix (good for all OSS) and save it to your
hard drive. (You may want to right click and use Save Target As.)
Double-click the vbs file. You will be prompted when the script is done.

After your first Save To, the location you chose will be remembered. This
fix can "wear out" depending on your usage of Save To so you may need to use
it again, unless the fix comes out first.
