| Laptop monitor starts up with a "reddish" color then goes black Hello and thanks for any advice. I have an HP Pavillion laptop (model ZV 5260 -- XP Pro). The problem is that my main monitor is going black after a few minutes - but my external monitor is working fine. When I hibernate the computer, I can log back on, but the screen looks a "reddish" color for about 20 seconds and then returns to a normal color. But then after a few minutes , my monitor will go COMPLETELY black (no backlight or anything) while my external monitor is still working fine. I am running a NVIDIA GeForce4 440 Go 64M 72.30 Any help is greatly appreciated as I am pretty strapped for $$ and I would like some good direction before I get yanked by some repair shop etc.. Thanks again for any advice. Please feel free to e-mail me at checktwmail********.com |

Please feel free to e-mail me at >checktwmail********.com Since an external monitor works fine, everything points to your LCD screen. You're definitely gonna have to succumb to getting "yanked by some repair shop". |

Please feel free to e-mail me at >checktwmail********.com Why ask here? This is a pure hardware problem that has nothing to do with XP. Ask elsewhere |

| Re: Laptop monitor starts up with a "reddish" color then goes black This is not the place for this kind of message but since you and I are here... Check for a backlight lamp for you screen, this is most likely the problem. Google it you can replace it yourself if you are handly and confident about taking apart a laptop. Direction may be found online also. -- Randem Systems Your Installation Specialist The Top Inno Setup Script Generator http://www.randem.com/innoscript.html http://www.rndem.com/installerproblems.html http://www.randem.com/vistainstalls.html http://www.financialtrainingservices.org "Duane" <Duane@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:240EAB7D-5829-4BFE-88E8-96C74887997B@microsoft.com... > Hello and thanks for any advice.
