IE no longer working

I have an HP Desktop with Windows XP Home Edition (SP2) that crashed after a
Symantec Antivirus download. The PC would not stop re-starting; everytime
the Windows page would load, the PC would re-start again... after an hour of
doing this, I hit F10 during start-up mode and restored the PC (to factory
specs).

After doing so, the re-start problem stopped. PC worked well, including all
Applications. Lone exception is that IE does not work. I have connectivity
with Linksys wireless modem; strong signal. When I click on IE, no webpage
loads (and I've tried several web pages). Just get standard error saying
check your Internet Settings and modem. Someone told me a driver may be bad
and to download from Windows.... but since can't get onto Internet, how do I
download.

Working from wireless laptop to post this need for help. Any ideas??

Thanks for any help.

RE: IE no longer working

I did another full system restore to factory settings, re-loaded my wireless
adapter and voila... we're back live. Thanks for the advice...

Thanks for any help.
