| False 'out of disk space' error when copying large (multi-Gb) files between hard-drives An issue I often see is when I want to copy a very large file (of the order of 5-10Gb) from one hard drive to another, the copy operation fails, informing me that I don't have enough disk space, even though there is more ample space on both the source and destination drives (more than double the size of the file). I come upon this often as we use Virtual PC and move virtual hard drive files around a lot. Can anyone advise on common causes of this false error, and on any tweaks I can make so that copy will work? I've tried things like turning system restore off, but that doesn't work. |
