| Windows Defender didn't install properly I'm running XP SP3 and just installed the latest version of Windows Defender, at least, I think I did. I can't find it anywhere on machine. There is no folder for it in the "All Programs" list and I don't see it in the Add/Remove Program list of Control Panel. Yet, if I try to install it again, it says the latest version is already installed. How do I know the app is installed and how do I start it. I'm NOT running Windows Live OneCare. |

| Re: Windows Defender didn't install properly What problems are you having that led you to install Defender? Microsoft has established separate newsgroups for Windows Defender support and comments. See http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...s/default.mspx TIP: Access these newsgroups using your default newsreader, not your browser. | Re: Windows Defender didn't install properly Saw it mentioned in an article and though I'd give it a try. I'm using Spybot S&D, but wanted to see what Defender had to offer. Now, from what I read, it's really sort of useless, so now I just want to get any pieces that may have been installed, off my machine. No, only my anti-virus AVG and Comodo Fire wall were running at the time, neither of which has ever caused me a problem when installing software before. |
