Common dialog boxes like Print and Save only show the buttons but are
missing the text so I can't use the dialog box. The buttons still work
but I can't see any text on the buttons or anywhere else. I am using
Windows XP Pro SP2.

Try :
Install TweakUI
Open it
Go to Common Dialogs > Places Bar
Right side, choose "Custom" > click Apply
Choose "Show Default" > Click Apply and see if the problem is solved. If not then
choose custom then define the item manually..
