virtual desktop manager

I am using the virtual desktop manager found on the xp power toys page:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx

When I am running excel and switch desktops, it messes up excel and makes
all of the menus disappear and they won't come back. The only way to make
them come back is to close excel and restart it. Has anyone else had this
problem? Is there a fix?

Re: virtual desktop manager

probably low on resources

try increasing your virtual memory,
try using a memory defragger
and remove any backgrounds from
the desktop....

Re: virtual desktop manager

shared desktop is disabled when it happens. it's fine when using shared
desktop. But I don't like having all my windows in one task bar.

hardware:
3.2GHz
1024 ram
dual screen ATI FireGL T2 - 256MB
plenty of disk space ~ 650GB
probably isn't hardware limitations

Re: virtual desktop manager

plenty of resources for just about anything.
3.2ghz
1024 ram
ati firegl - dual monitor - 256mb
40gb free on boot drive

it's fine when in shared desktop mode, but I like having my tasks shown in
their actual desktop, so I'd like shared mode off.

Re: virtual desktop manager

This is a known problem with MSVDM.
There is no fix.
Try competition products instead:
