Remove 'Norton Anti-Spam' from 'Norton Internet Security'

Hi:
I installed 'Norton Internet Security' and found 'Norton Anti-Spam'
sitting in my e-mail. However, I do NOT need 'Anti-Spam,' as seeing that
I normally read e-mails coming to the 'In-Box' and miss to read e-mails
coming into 'Norton Anti-Spam' folder.
Also, my e-mail circle is very limited, then I want to get rid of 'Norton
Anti-Spam' from 'Norton Internet Security.'

How to remove ONLY 'Anti-Spam' program came with 'Norton
Internet Security?'

Thanks for your help in advance.

Insert the CD again or run the setup executable and see if it allows you
to ADD/REMOVE installed features. You can also disable Anti-Spam in the
"Add-in" section in Outlook, as well as the Norton Security Console.

Re: Remove 'Norton Anti-Spam' from 'Norton Internet Security'

Hi:
Thanks for the responses.
The computer running with Windows XP, IE6 with Outlook Express 6.

On 'Norton Internet Security,' there re 4(four) features,
Norton AntiVirus
Norton Personal Firewall
Norton AntiSpywre
Norton Antiphishing

Since I do NOT need 'Norton AntiSpam,' then I was surprised to see this,
'Norton AntiSpam.' As having a problem of getting an e-mail from a friend,
I started to look for it whether her e-mail went to other 'box.' Upon
having
done this, I found 'Norton Anti-Virus,' in there I found her e-mail which
was sent

I went to 'config' of Norton internet Security, and 'turn-off' both 'In and
Out' e-mail
features, in hopes that would solve the problem. Because, as much I hate to
go to
'CD' route.

Thanks for any other option/solution on this.

Ask Symantec. This is not an XP OS issue. You are better off removing NIS,
anyway.

To elaborate on my last post, there are good alternatives to the functions
of NIS, many of which are free. They run better and are less resource
intensive. For some Symantec home products and NIS run ok, but for all they
are very resource intensive, extremely invasive, very very hard to remove,
and for many create problems down the road.

Re: Remove 'Norton Anti-Spam' from 'Norton Internet Security'

Hi Rock:
I went to Symantec' site. But, there is no 'help/support' to this issue
which I've been having. Probably, they don't like to answer to those
'trivial' issues. Rather, I saw a lot of 'purchase' and 'download' sites
for encouraging to buy.

Is there any good sites for this issue?

But, on the otherhand, I assume that I'm not only one on this, or at least
similar issue due to NIS installation.
p.s.) In the meantime, I'll wait to see whether 'In-coming and Out-going'
features work, on which I did one hour ago. If not, I may call to Symatec,
if this issue would persist. Because, I have NO time to look around e-mail
all over the places. Only, 'In-box' is enough for me.

Thanks,

Enter "symantec.support" in your newsgroup dialog box, and you'll find
dozens of newsgroups specifically for Symantec products. In OE,
click Tools/Newsgroups, in the window "Display Newsgroups which contain"
enter: symantec.support
Select the newsgroups you want and click on "Subscribe".
