I installed and validated windows xp pro but I strange things happen;
• My computer and my documents are not located in their original spot on
desktop but they are mixed with other icons and keep relocation
• The windows takes long time to shutdown and when the shutdown options show
up, the stand by icon will not be active
• Any application takes long time to launch.
I re-installed my Windows but same thing happens every time and increased
the virtual memory to the max but it did not help much
What can I do to get my system work normally?

Sounds normal if you have align to grid and/or autoarrange icons turned on.

Check your Power control panel.

That's just Windows acting normal.
