| Mouse and Keyboard stopped working Running XP SP2. The mouse and keyboard stopped working. Keyboard is PS2 and Mouse is USB. I tried different USB ports with no success. The computer starts and is running but I can not see the XP log on screen because the flat screen is in energy save mode and says move mouse or touch keyboard to return to normal mode. I plugged the flat screen into my lap top in it is working ok so the problem is not the flat screen. The keyboard lights for about 1 to 2 seconds when I cut on the computer but then the lights go out and keyboard is not working. Any suggestions on how to fix. Thanks for all replies. |

Perhaps your USB controller has had it. Does the keyboard work when you go into the BIOS? |

Your keyboard, PS/2 port or BIOS might be defective. I suggest you try a different keyboard and repost your question in a hardware newsgroup. |
