Search Indexer

IS there a way to stop this from opening????

I use a different search program and don't need te search indexer. It uses
a lot of resources
on this lptop. I keep turning if off; I have unchecked the box on My
Computer properties and yet
it seems, I cannot stp this from starting up.
I don't see it inmy startup menu unless it is camouflaged by another
name...
Thanks,
Sue

Open Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components,
and deselect "Indexing Service".
