I upgraded from Office 2000 to Office 2007. After it installed the Desktop
Search function I find that minimized programs do not show up on task bar
as they used to. So now, when I want to go back to another loaded in use
program I have to Ctl-Alt-Del to get to task manager and switch to the
program.

How do I restore the ability to see the running programs on the bottom of my
task bar ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try this:
Close all running programs
Run the attached file, restart the computer and try again.
