Re: Internet Explorer 6 hangs up (Not Responding) when click onurl address bar drop down

Control panel
Internet options
Advanced
UNCHECK "load third party plugins"

See if it works, if it does, IE is loading some sort of plugin that is
causing it to crash(google search bar etc...) I'd recommend a good spyware
scan

Re: Internet Explorer 6 hangs up (Not Responding) when click on url address bar drop down

To manually disable the tool bands and Browser Helper Objects:
1. Close all instances of Internet Explorer, click Start, point to Settings,
and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Internet Options.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4. Under Browsing, click to clear the Enable third-party browser extensions
(requires restart) check box.
5. Restart Internet Explorer.

Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart) means...
[[Specifies that you want to disable features you installed for use with
Internet Explorer that may have been created by companies other than
Microsoft.
If you encounter problems with Internet Explorer that you cannot resolve,
you can use this option to help determine if third-party features are
causing the problems without uninstalling the feature. You must restart
Internet Explorer after turning this option on or off.]]
