| Compress old files It appears that WinXp automatically compresses files that haven't been open for a long time. Is there anyway I can prevent this from happening on an external HD? Thanks in advance for your help, Bill |

| Re: Compress old files Bob It did not give a choice on my machine. See my post to this thread, That solved the slow assessment of how much space might be gained by running Disk CleanUp.
