laptop problem

I have bought a toshiba tecra a8 laptob but affter two months when I was
working with it a band appears at the bottom of the monitor . I install
windows xp again but I can't continue because of the band exists. now it is
returned to the sello for repair and they told me the lcd has damaged and it
must changed . I want to know what the problem really is ?

As the seller says: The LCD screen or its driver has developed
a fault and must be replaced. If you want more details then you
should repost your question in a hardware newsgroup.

the only ones who
can tell you what the problem
really is, is the person or persons
who opened up your laptop and
examined it. but the mfg may already
know what the problems have been.

however, the possibilities are poor workmanship,
low quality parts, ie, lcd's from china, or
user error.

it is likely, a failed "power lcd power inverter".
check your warranty...

This isn't an XP OS issue, it's a hardware issue.
