Boot C Drive moved from Disk 0 to Disk 1; OEM XP disk can't see it

Have XP Pro with 250gb RAID 0 for primary drive with windows installed.
Added a 250gb backup drive which takes the Drive letter D. When attempting
to reinstall XP from scratch with the OEM XP disk, only the D drive shows up
as Disk 0 and I am unable to format and reinstall to C.
The Computer Management > Disk Management displays >
Disk 0 Basic 233 GB Online (D:) Healthy (Active) and
Disk 1 Basic 465 GB Online (C:) Healthy (System)

What disk do you see when you attempt the same operation
with only the 233 GByte disk connected?
