| Printer Share Issue Hello, I have Windows XP Pro SP2 clients in a Windows 2000 server network. There is a Dymo label writer 330 printer directly connected to a Windows XP client as the print server and shared in the network and it has been working fine. Recently I enabled 'file and printer sharing' in the Windows XP Firewall Exceptions on all clients so I can deploy a remote push install of the Symantec AV. I'm not sure if it's even related or not but now some clients can see and print to the Dymo printer and some cannot. There has been no other change. When I try to add the Dymo printer on a client that cannot print to it, it won't even expand the computer name so I can select that printer to install. |

F&P sharing must have been enabled before, via the firewall, or your users would never have been able to connect to this printer in the first place. How'd you make the firewall changes globally - via group policy? What happens if you go to \\computername ? Event log errors, on the 'server' and the client, at the time? |
