XP / Vista compatibility . . .

I have the following:

1. A PC running XP
2. A laptop (not working) running Vista

I want to remove the harddrive from the laptop, put it in an External
Hard Drive Enclosure and connect it to the PC.

My question is, will these two be compatible considering the different
OS?

Thanks!
Shane

Yes. The file system is basically the same, and you will be able to read
the Vista drive from the XP system. You might have to Take Ownership of
some files or folders.

Yes. The operating system is irrelevant. Both XP and Vista can read
FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, and NTFS. As long as it's one of these (and it
has to be if the computer is in was running *any* Microsoft operating
system) it can be read by either XP or Vista.
