| faulting module MSVCRT.dll Hi All, Tunnel: openvpn-2.1_beta7-gui-1.0.3-install.exe OS: XP-PRO sp2 client; sp3 server I am trying to set up a tunnel between two computers. All goes well until the client (sp2) tries to log into the server (sp3). As soon as the clients traffic hits the server, the server crashes. There is nothing in the Open VPN GUI log file. But there is this in Microsoft event log under applications: Faulting application, openvpn, exe version 0.0.0.0, faulting module MSVCRT.dll version 7.0.2600. 5512, fault address 0x00032a16 If you look at the send error message report, it says the same thing. What I have done so far to troubleshoot is 1) removed and reinstalled open vpn (no symptom change) 2) "expanded" msvcrt.dl_" from the OEM CD and replaced the original in system32 (no symptom change) 3) installed XP-W2K-Script56-KB917344-x86-enu.exe (no symptom change) 4) searched the open vpn mailing list archived for "msvcrt" (no hits) Can anyone help me fix this? Many thanks, -T -- ------------------------- I Fish. Therefore, I am. ------------------------- |

| Re: faulting module MSVCRT.dll Hi Todd, I'm experiencing the same issue running 2.1 rc13, but it seems to happen at random. Several machines connecting fine for a while, then blam. Were you able to find a resolution to this issue that might help me? |

You are using a web interface that leeches Usenet posts and most of the rest of us are using real newsreaders. We don't see what you do. If you want to participate in Usenet, the better way is to set up a newsreader. This is very easy to do and I'll give you information about that below. If you prefer to use a forum, then here are two excellent ones: http://forum.aumha.org/index.php http://http://computerhaven.info/ Since you are using a web interface, you may not realize that this is really a newsgroup. You will get far more out of this resource if you learn to use a newsreader. There are many good newsreaders for Windows, but you can use Outlook Express (XP) or Windows Mail (Vista) since you already have it.
