| Windows XP Not Starting - Screen Pixelated Hi, I'm running Windows XP Home Edition. When I turn on the computer, the monitor screen is pixelated and hard to read. The machine boots up, I get the Windows logo, and then a black screen. Nothing is wrong with the monitor (hooked it up to another computer). Any ideas? |

If you tried another monitor and got the same results then you know the issue lies with hardware failure on your computer. Start by swapping out the video card for a known-working one. Since we know nothing of the recent history of this machine or anything about its specs, that's as specific as I can get. Malke -- MS-MVP Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic! You have hardware failure. There's really no way for me to guess what component has failed from your brief post. Either do hardware troubleshooting or take the machine to a competent local computer repair shop. I don't recommend using a BigComputerStore/GeekSquad type of place. http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/...ardware_Tshoot Malke -- MS-MVP Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
