By "90% occupied" I take it that you mean the drive is almost full. I'm not sure what you hope to accomplish by partitioning it, but I'd certainly move some of the stuff off it first. Acronis makes a Disk Director program that will partition hard drives. If you have it, read its Help file or go to Acronis user forums at www.acronis.com.
