Difference Start/Turn Off/Standby VS Power Options Standby

If wrong groups please advise.

If you 'force' standby via Start/Turn Off Computer/Standby
will the Hibernate setting in Control Panel/Power Options/Standby (Ex:
Hibernate after 2 hours) still kick in.

I have tried testing but I can't tell if it is waking up from Standby
or Hibernate.

Win XP sp2

Thanks
