| XP PRO freezing up I un-installed Windows Defender. No problems since. Thank you. Note: in the past with WD's multitudinous updates, I notice problems after downloading them so checked back and on 4 occasions I did a System Restore which did stop problems I was having...that program has bugs! |

| Re: XP PRO freezing up I've never had any problems with WD on a large number of XP PC's, many of them owned by people who get their systems' in a good old mess, i.e. WD is robust, well behaved, and coexists quite happily with a wide range of other anti-malware software. I suggest that you've managed to get your system into that unique "state" / GUI system wide "condition" / (particular application software mix perhaps), ....and barring a vast array of other possibilities including hardware problems, and that hilarious field of "overclocking," ....could be remote possibilities. Almost every application program has "bugs," sounds like you were lucky enough to find one in WD :-) regards, Richard "Laughingstar~*" <uP_n_aWaynospam368@nOtMeyahoo.com> wrote in message news:%23BcqaqGsIHA.1240@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... >I un-installed Windows Defender.
