| Lost Restore function I just tried to restore my computer back to a previous date, but when I go to the icon it's the usual default looking one that indicates it hasn't got an association with anything. Clicking on it and nothing happens. Does this mean I have lost all my ability to restore? How would that happen? Will this automatically start functioning again at some time? Is there another way to access this function? Rob |

| RE: Lost Restore function Try either, open disk clean up utility, select the "other options" tab,at the bottom, select, clear all restore dates but last one, then clean up hd.Other is to open system properties, system restore, turn off, exit system, restart pc.Back in xp,restart restore, open restore in tools, set date/time for restore point... | Re: Lost Restore function Hi Lem, Thanks for your input. Never fear though. I wasn't about to lose all my restore points! What I actually did after my original post was to find the system restore program in system32 directory, by doing a search for "restore". It found which I think would have been the rstrui.exe program to which you refer. When I ran that, everything returned to normal and the Shortcut displayed correctly again. Musta just been a small glitch. | Re: Lost Restore function Glad you got it working. Andrew E's advice was a bit extreme (and probably wouldn't have fixed your shortcut anyway).
