Installing the non-testing version would do the trick.

I've done that twice - yesterday and just now - and still it shows testing.

Other machines that also had Beta 3 installed do not have this issue...

I'd hate to have to flatten it just to get rid of this.

Try this.

Start > Run > regedit and press enter.

Navigate to HKey_Current_User\Control Panel\Desktop

Look at the key PaintDesktopVerion and make sure the value is 0. If
something else, set to 0 and reboot.

You must uninstall the previous or test version first, then install the
final; that's the only way it's supposed to work.

Uninstall the pre-release software from Add/Remove programs, reboot, and
then install the final. If you have installed SP3 using an integrated cd
(by slipstreaming) then you cannot uninstall SP3 and must reinstall the OS.

Been there done that as well; ALWAYS do that with Beta drops. <VBG>

Anyways, tried a Restore form WHS for 1/2/2008 and it had the same problem,.

Did a wipe and bare metal reload.

Tried that Colin. Always uninstall beta drops... NEVER EVER do a beta OVER a
prior beta and that includes RTM drops.

Made no diff; Have wiped and reloaded...

That fixed it VERY nicely.
