If you were lucky it went to your recycle bin, but then you might have already thought of that. If you have stopped using the PC immediately, then there is hope for any popular (and I have no suggestions) undelete programs you can use to retrieve the data. But undelete works great, 1 second after you delete. The longer your PC runs and the more you do, the more you lose. !!!!!!! |

| Re: Outlook Express 6 Deleted File Folder can I recover ? Crossposted to Outlook Express General newsgroup. First, make sure it isn't in Deleted Items. If not, see if the dbx file for the folder still exists in the message store and manually restore it as follows. Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store Folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Write the location down and navigate to it in Windows Explorer or, copy and paste it into Start | Run. In WinXP, Win2K & Win2K3, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options | View. In the message store in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx file for the missing folder and drag it to the Desktop at the top of the folder tree. Open OE and create a folder with the *exact* same name as the one on your Desktop. Open the new folder and then close OE. (You must do this). Go back to Windows Explorer and Click Desktop and drag the file from the Desktop to the OE store folder that you clicked on to reveal the .dbx files. Prompt - "Do you want to overwrite......."? Click Yes. *Note* If you have moved the Outlook Express store folder from it's default location on drive C to another drive, drag the dbx file to a location on that drive and not the Desktop. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "Mickey Mouse" <Mickey Mouse@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:BCB0737E-8FAC-4E9F-96DC-42EC4222ED68@microsoft.com... >I accidently deleted a File folder in Outlook Express 6 plus all my emails > inside, is there anyway to recover all of this information ? > Please sendme a detailed explanation to oddbins69********.com > Really appreciate all help. |

I can't add anything to the suggestions made by the other respondents other than asking the obvious question: If your EMail files are important to you, have you considered backing them up? Once a week? A 2.5" disk in an external USB case is a low-cost but highly effective backup medium. Remember this: - After backing up your files for the first time, you MUST do a trial restoration. If you don't then your backup is close to useless. - You must keep your chosen backup medium well away from your PC for most of the time. |

| Re: Outlook Express 6 Deleted File Folder can I recover ? If the actual dbx file was deleted, then the only thing that may recover the messages is my DBXpress program (www.oehelp.com/DBXpress) and its extract from disk feature. But its not guaranteed to do so. steve "Bruce Hagen" <Nospam@mymail.invalid> wrote in message news:ukcU2GhpIHA.4904@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > Crossposted to Outlook Express General newsgroup. > > First, make sure it isn't in Deleted Items.
