Quality portable speaker?

[Sorry - this probably isn't the right group. I wasn't sure where to
post. On the other hand, I am running XP : ) ]

I'd like suggestions on a single small "high quality" portable speaker
for a laptop. If it could get power from a USB, that would be perfect!
It needs to plug into an earphone jack. I don't need big bass but
don't want to be pressed against the speaker to hear it. If nothing
else, batteries are fine.

I'd like the same thing for an iPod. Battery powered of course.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Brett
