| Using Print Screen Hi there, I am trying to write up some documentation and have stumbled across an issue I can't resolve, so would be grateful for any assistance. When I right click and hightlight a choice I would like to be able to include this box and just the active screen (and highlighted choice) when using Print Scrn. However, when pressing the 'Alt' button the box (right click) goes, so I can't include it. I can only combine it with the whole screen by using just the 'Print Scrn' button, which isn't what I wanted. :-( Thanks for your help |

| Re: Using Print Screen Hi Gloria. You need to get a 3rd party application such as SnapIt (or search Google for a freeware equivalent). The native printscreen function cannot do what you want. Microsoft's paint (included with XP) does this with ease. |

| Re: Using Print Screen MWSnap is an excellent freeware for this. Google it. May take a couple of goes to do the last bit without releasing the button but it will take a clipped picture of the open window + menu. However if the menu extends outside the window you have to try the other suggestions. |

| Re: Using Print Screen These two are the best. I have tried dozens. Both full versions, freeware. Problem is, which one? Just get both! Purrint (Free) http://www.bcheck.net/apps/ "Make your PrintScreen (and alt-print screen) button work the way it ought. Save to file (bmp, png, jpg, gif), print to printer, or copy to clipboard. Works in any version of windows since Win95, and it's only 114k." Zip: http://www.bcheck.net/apps/purrint.zip Installer: http://www.bcheck.net/apps/PurrintInst.exe Or Printscreen 2000 8.1 http://www.softsea.com/review/PrintScreen-2000.html "Printscreen 2000 is a utility for printing or saving the entire screen or areas of the screen in Windows 95 to XP. Print the full screen by simply pressing the PrintScreen key, print the active window using Alt-PrintScreen or select an area to print. Printscreen works with DOS sessions and supports any printer. Displays of up to 16 million colors are supported and files can be saved in True color GIF, TIF, JPG, BMP or BMP format." ju.c "Gloria" <Gloria@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:3D7E62DA-8B2C-435E-88C1-CF57E89CB2ED@microsoft.com... > Hi there, > > I am trying to write up some documentation and have stumbled across an > issue > I can't resolve, so would be grateful for any assistance. > > When I right click and hightlight a choice I would like to be able to > include this box and just the active screen (and highlighted choice) > when > using Print Scrn. | RE: Using Print Screen Thanks for all your help. Once I found it wasn't possible within Windows I then found a program myself call FastStone Capture. It's on a 30 day trial basis but does the job - as it's not something I going to need regularly. Many Thanks Gloria "Gloria" wrote: > Hi there, > > I am trying to write up some documentation and have stumbled across an issue > I can't resolve, so would be grateful for any assistance. > > When I right click and hightlight a choice I would like to be able to > include this box and just the active screen (and highlighted choice) when > using Print Scrn.
