Change location of IE Favorites Folder

Instead of copying my favorites folder to my backup external hard drive, I
accidentally moved it there. Now every time I want to go to a favorites web
site, the external hard drive starts up. How can I change it back or
reassign it?
Thanks

Re: Change location of IE Favorites Folder

You can change the value of Favorites in the Registry

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders]
Set the Favorites path to : %USERPROFILE%\Favorites

The above should be a REG_EXPAND_SZ value, not REG_SZ
