| Did I kill this computer? Well let’s see. At first I got a virus then ran a virus scan, apparently I hit the delete all button instead of repair all. so it ended up deleting the logon file for my computer and now it can’t get past the message even when I put in the XP disc, maybe I’m doing it wrong. The message says Stop: c000021a {fatal system error} The windows logon process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0X0000034 (0X00000000 0X00000000) The System has been shut down ps i have a standard dell 9100 |

If you are not sure that your machine is virus free, I suggest you back up your data... then format your drive and reinstall XP |

Have you got a clue as to what kind of disc - IF ANY - the OP has? You are one of those here who is dangerous: you are giving bad info because you are replying to posts that have given insufficient info. |

As a first effort, restart the computer and press F8 immediately after the initial black screen and then select "Last known good configuration."
