| Windows Installer comes up for NO REASON Will someone please tell me why the Windows Installer pops up from time to time on me ? SHEESH !!! - this is driving me absolutely crazy. I go for days with everything normal, and then all of a sudden, when I click on an application, it won't load and the Windows Installer window comes up. The only thing I can do is reboot to get out of this mess ! Then, I'm good for another few days. HELP HELP HELP !!!!! Im using XP SP2. Thanks Gregg |

It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with assistance from an expert. **Post your log to http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22, http://castlecops.com/forum67.html, http://forums.subratam.org/index.php?showforum=7, http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30, or other appropriate forums for review by an expert in such matters, not here.** If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Desktop Experience - since 2002 AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.net/ GJB wrote: > Will someone please tell me why the Windows Installer pops up from time to > time on me ? | Re: Windows Installer comes up for NO REASON GJB, If you know which application it's coming from you can either put the correct CD as it seems to be looking for a certain MSI file or you can use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility & remove the known entry from there. Remember, you will need to re-install things if you start deleting these entries -- Newbie Coder (It's just a name) "GJB" <GJB@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:97FADB6E-1CA2-47C5-ACF7-4F5A73FD864F@microsoft.com... > Will someone please tell me why the Windows Installer pops up from time to > time on me ?
