| RE: Why Aren't People Standing In Line For Linux? Because you don't have to. It's free to download. Seriously, I find it very good for some things. But not for others. After a hair-tearing session trying to get a php/mysql webserver running on Windows, I achieved the same thing in a fraction of the time on Linux. Plus, it worked properly, which the Windows one never did. OTOH, Linux as a desktop OS I find rather frustrating, as there always seem to be simple little things that I can't do, things that I could easily do given a copy of Windows 3.1 or later. |
