Initializeing Root Directory Tree

Can anyone tell me why it takes so long for any office or outlook application
to initialize the root directories for changing drives to attach or open
files from another drive, directory or folder. The time factor and delay to
get to the folder or drive id ridiculous.

Thanks

An Office newsgroup would be a better place to find Office users.

Re: Initializeing Root Directory Tree

It's waiting for the drives you have mapped connections to on
non-connected resources to respond.

Open MY Computer, and then r-click on and select Disconnect for any
Unavailable drives.
