| Weird behavior of mouse (actually stick between G and H on laptop) I have a Toshiba Sattelite with the post/stick mouse control. I've had it for almost a year (used) and it has worked just fine. Today, though, the arrow only moves side to side on one horizontal plane. the up and down motions do nothing whatsoever. After rebooting it may or may not begin to work again. I did a system restore (resets the registry to a backup point) and it began working for a bit, then went to only horizontal movement again. RIght now it is working, but I anticipate it will happen again. What could possibly be happening to make it that I have no vertical control. Also, (and I've seen this on other laptops), the cursor decides it has to go up the screen for a while and then stop and be happy again. Just a minute ago it was happening again, and once even went down on its own. When it starts moving, I can stop its movement by putting pressure on the post, but when I let go it continues on. At this very moment, it seems to move up and down as I type. When I press the space bar, it drops down a line or goes right down to the bottom of the screen. This is just wierd. any ideas??"??? |

| RE: Weird behavior of mouse (actually stick between G and H on laptop) it sounds like your mouse control is Donald Ducked. If still under warranty ask them to sort it. Alternatively I had a game pad that used to stick and WD40 done the trick, be very carefull only to get a tiny amount to drip down the stick.
