XP home can't write to DVDs... you need a 3rd-party app for that. And to drag-and-drop with that app, it will need to have InCD installed as well. |

Just to clarify that last sentence, InCD is only one of several third-pary programs that add this functionality. He doesn't have to have *that* one. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP - Windows Desktop Experience Please Reply to the Newsgroup |

| Re: Drag and drop files(folders) into DVD drive(folder) I use the cheap and cheerful version of "Record Now" tht Sony put on the laptop. But you can buy the full program from Roxio as a download. I have that too and it does more than I will ever need. Roxio Drag-to-disk is far better, because it supports DVD-R and DVD+R as well. It can also format RW disks on the fly if the drive supports it (most don't though). InCD is a relatively crippled product. |

I rarely burn anything to CD anymore and have yet to burn anything to DVD. I have too many other ways to save stuff (3 hard drives in addition to my system drive) and use a flash drive to move things from one computer to another. |

Then, with respect, you're hardly an authority on the subject. I burn all manner of things to CD and DVD, mainly for archive purposes, but also standard and high definition video. |

Never said I was one when it came to using all the various ways to burn to CD or DVD. Don't need to do much of that anymore other than to burn backup copies of new software, and some occasional permanent archiving. |

Although good practice (I frequently champion such a practice), it is of little relevance to the thread. |
