| Keyboard/Pointing Device Locks up I have a laptop running Windows XP Pro. When the laptop is undocked, and I boot up the machine, everything works until I get on the sign on screen....both the keyboard works, and the touchpad/mouse. I can wait 10 min or so at the sign on screen and everything is fine. Once I do a ctrl-alt-del and logon, 50% of the time, the keyboard and/ or touchpad/mouse will lock up and stop working. The only way to fix it is by rebooting and hoping on the reboot there are no issues. A look in event viewer shows the following message: Event ID 7000 - The parallel port driver service failed to start due to the following error: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. This laptop does not have a parallel port. Any thoughts how to resolve it? Thank you |
