| Windows XP - Extended Desktop Hi All, I have an Inspiron 9300, running Windows XP, set up to use an external monitor as an extended desktop. This works fine. My problem is how to switch off this feature ! I use the laptop for presentations and, therefore, I need to use it with an external projector mirroring my desktop from time to time. The darn extend option just won't switch off ! I get rid of the tick in Display Properties and it puts it straight back as soon as I try and toggle the projector on using the laptop keyboard control. I guess I must be doing something silly here but I am mystified as to what. Can anyone make some suggestions ? Many Thanks Neil |

Left click on the monitor with '2' in it and then uncheck the 'Extend the windows desktop onto this monitor'. Press 'Apply'. The displays should mometarily black out an then come back on the primary monitor only. |

My feeling at the moment is that the graphics circuitry has sustained some hardware fault, but software can't entirely be ruled out. |
