You may want to try Doug Knox's Internet Time Update Interval utility listed under his WinXP Utilities:
<http://www.dougknox.com/>

Here's a direct link to the download:
<http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/InternetTime.zip>

I've used it for quite some time and it works very well. It allows you to set the update interval to hourly, daily, weekly and a custom setting.

Hello qcanpc18

Not sure what you have tried so far, but this is worth a go if you
haven't already tried it. It de-registers and then re-registers the
Windows Time service and often seems to cure a stubborn glitch.

Here's how:

Go to Start | Run and type cmd <OK> to open a Command prompt.

Now type the following commands:

net stop W32Time <Enter>

w32tm /unregister <Enter>

w32tm /register <Enter>

net start W32Time <Enter>

Now you can try synchronising again and see if anything's changed.

Hope this helps, let us know how it goes :-)

Having more than 1 firewall installed caused this problem for me. Are
you sure you don't have a firewall from a anti-virus suite installed, as
I did by having McAfee installed for free by Comcast (ISP)?
