Numbers near letters on the keyboard

Hello:

One of our laptops types numbers instead of letters. Upon examining the
keyboard, we see that a few of the letters do have numbers in the corners of
those keys and those numbers are what are appearing in the screen.

How do we get the keys to type letters, as they normally should, instead of
numbers?

Thanks!

Re: Numbers near letters on the keyboard

It is frequently one of the F keys in the top row.

It is SHIFT + Scroll Lock on Thinkpads, on top row.

Re: Numbers near letters on the keyboard

I'm well aware of that as an option, sir. My question leans more toward "is
there a universal way of turning off this functionality"? If not, then fine.
We will contact Dell.

Re: Numbers near letters on the keyboard

People complain about long phone queues, and it is people like you who are
too lazy to read the manual or google, who cause these queues.

Re: Numbers near letters on the keyboard

I have never seen an option to disable that functionality in Windows.
