Partition Magic 8.0 rescue disk create error

I have PM8.0 installed on a brand new machine running WinXP Pro. PM8.0
is working perfectly w/ the exception of creating the rescue disks.
When I run
the task to create the rescue disks I get prompted to insert an empty,
formatted
1.44M floppy. I use a disk I have just formatted and verified with
WinXP that
it is fine and completely empty and writable (duh). Every time the disk
creation
step begins I get a dialog that says:

Title: Disk Usage Information
! There is not enough free space on the diskette.

Space Required: 1457000 bytes
Space Available: 4294967295 bytes
Space Needed: 1457001 bytes

Not sure what is causing this problem but I tried running the setup.exe
command that makes the rescue disks in Win2K compatibility mode and
WinNT compatibility mode with no success. Any help or insight would be
appreciated.

You talked about "a disk": Have you tried it with other floppies?

Re: Partition Magic 8.0 rescue disk create error

Yes with many, and I confirmed that they were writable and could hold
the max
(1.44MB) of data by copying files to them before I formatted them for
PM8.0 (wants
blank formatted disks)..... Not sure what the procedure is to move
forward on this....

TO FIX THE ABOVE ... restart the computer in Windows SAFE MODE (F8 key before windows boots up) and run the program again ... it will work properly ... (something with XP's SP2 stops the program and floppy drive responding correctly and gives you the above error) - hope this helps - it always works for me .... (I now created lots of pairs of disks from within SAFE MODE)

I'm having the same problem exactly. Maybe it's a Windows XP thing? I've posted it on several forums, but no answer. Have you had any luck?
