Internet Explorer and Firefox crash

2 computer's in our company are having a problem with both IE and
firefox crashing. McAfee Virus scan 8.5i is also having a problem
where the McShield Service (OAS) does not start.

This started happening yesterday at roughly the same time. I have
patched the computers with the MS updates as well as mcafee patch 4.

W2K pro
sp 4

Anyone have any ideas?

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log
to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

No, no, no. Did you not read what PA Bear wrote about this?

Not here. It takes a great deal of time and expertise to analyze HJT

not get the assistance you need here in the MS newsgroups. For your
convenience, here is a list (in no particular order) of specialty forums
where you can post your HJT log and get guided help. Read the posting
