Windows intro music

Is there any way of turning off the Windows "I'm on" music?
I know I can mute the speakers, but that mutes everything - including the
'low battery' chime on my laptop. I just want to turn off the Windows intro'
music, as it annoys me to hear it every single morning!
Thanks in advance.
(FYI: XP Home on one laptop, and XP Pro on another laptop.)

Re: Windows intro music

Just click on 'control panel' in the start menu, then click on 'sounds
and audio devices', then click on the 'sounds' tab at the top and you
will be able to turn on or off any sounds in the scrollable list.

Isn't it amazing how many folks ask questions here that might be
easily answered if they just spent a little time investigating their
system... or even checking out the menu options at the top of their
application window?

And isn't it also amazing how many people take the time to write in
complaining about this rather than just ignoring it? :-)

Re: Windows intro music

IMHO, it's all about attitude, if you came here to help others then do so, if
you come here burned out and have formed an attitude that people should do
the work themselves, then it will show in your response, and you need a
vacation from this forum.

Yep. We all get tired; I can relate. I just try not to post then.

Re: Windows intro music

fyi my post was not directed towards you personally, just a general
observation.

Re: Windows intro music

Yes, I did do some research, but not being as clever as you I couldn't work
out an answer. Which is why i posted the question. But your patronizing
answer will archive its goal - I won't ask any more questions.
