The Experiment

Turn-on the System Cache counter then while installing a very large
application or game, watch the System Cache size. After the installation is
completed, please post here the highest System Cache mb size observed and the
amount of memory in your computer in mb's. Thanks.

Re: The Experiment

May I ask why you would expect someone to do this? Are you trying to help
me? It sounds like you are responding to someone who has a problem and need
this information to assist them.

Or, maybe you posted this to the wrong group/post.

Re: The Experiment

No, he is trying to apply Windows 95 memory tweaking techniques to
Windows XP, and keeps chasing the "better use of memory" ghost.

Re: The Experiment

After reaching the desktop, there is about 1000 mb of free memory. The
maximum system cache size I have observed is about 100mb. How can I increase
the cache size and thus use some of the free memory?
