| maybe OT: PowerToy Image Resizer (no multiple resize anymore) I've been using the XP PowerToy Image Resizer for a long time and with no problems. Suddenly, there isn't 'Resize Picutures' option when I right click on *multiple* pictures, now I can resize only one piture at a time. I've tried to do repair on Image Resizer but no results. -- Chupo |

I'd try uninstalling and reinstalling Image Resizer to see if it helps. |

Find two jpg files. Verify that those files are actually jpegs by opening them. Test with these two. |

The context menu appears only if I select exactly one .jpg. And everything was OK for more than a year, I was resizig multiple images almost every day. -- Chupo |

That could be the good starting point. I thing I should search the Registry for the data associated with right-click context menu (didn't find any Registry setting associatted with Image Resizer). -- Chupo |

PowerToys are not officially supported, AFAIK....I've never had a problem with one, but I think they are "use at your own risk." You could try a system restore, to a date prior to the problem. |

Thanks for your help. And, just now, I've discovered another issue, I cannot resize only one ..png (there isn't Resize Pictures option if I select only one .png) but can resize multiple .png-s, can't resize multiple .gif-s/.jpg-s but can only one. Very strange :-/ > You could try a system restore, to a date prior to the problem. > I think that would be too radical solution. -- Chupo |

There are many under PhotoResize, PhotoToys, Image Resizer, ImageResizer etc. (a bit obscure, some of them) e.g. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\image\She llEx\ContextMenuHandlers\PhotoResize HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\SystemFileAsso ciations\image\ShellEx\ContextMenuHandlers\PhotoRe size ....Alan -- Alan Edwards, MS MVP Windows - Internet Explorer http://dts-l.com/index.htm |

I've tried with Context Menu Editor but it has only the option to delete the key. And, it doesn't detect any key associated with Image Resizer (there is one key without the name, it may be that). Very strange is that I can resize only multiple .png-s and only single ..gif/.jpg-s (as described in one of my replies). -- Chupo |

OK. I am not sure where to go to from here. I have all the Registry keys/values added when I installed Image Resizer. I can play a bit when I have time if it is important to you. (Not much time in the next few days) If you want me to continue, summarize what you have done so I don't have to read through every post. You clip too much for me to follow easily. (Age brings a short attention span) FWIW, there are no individual keys like .jpg mentioned in the installation report, only general keys like HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\image\She llEx\ContextMenuHandlers\PhotoResize ....Alan -- Alan Edwards, MS MVP Windows - Internet Explorer http://dts-l.com/index.htm |

Can not resize jpg but can gif. right click option appears but does not produce the selections window. Interesting. Ken |
