| new everex windows crashed Hello, I'm new to the site so I may not be in the right area but I just purchased an Everex StepNote for my dad and he has had it about a month. Yesterday, I wasn't with him and he doesn't know what he did exactly but when I turn his computer on now, it gives me an error that windows is corrupted. He cannot find his windows cd that came with the computer, however I did notice that on the bottom of his computer there is a label with the edition of windows he has/had with the id number and everything. I am on his computer right now because I installed a copy of another windows xp that I had but it isn't locating his satellite or any icons, etc. I hope it wasn't a mistake to download the windows cd in order to access the internet. Right now, I have him connected through an ethernet cable. I have a regular pc and then two other notebooks at my house and all use a wireless router. Before his computer messed up, I had him using our router and it worked fine. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get windows back to the way it was? I just can't understand why his computer did this. Is there any way that windows can send me all of the download stuff since I have his windows id number and everything? Thanks so much Laurie |

| Re: new everex windows crashed You have probably installed a new installation of win, rather than repairing the original installation, and as such you need to install drivers that were either supplied on cd with the PC or by visiting Everex site and downloading them. MS is not going to send you anything since support is supplied by Everex, and if you cannot find your original cd's.........?
