File "browse" window

The window that pops up with a "save as" or download file command has a group
of buttons on the right side to common locations(sorry I don't remember what
it is called) but is it possible to get a smart and unique list for every
program, so that each program populates the list with the most recent
locations it has worked with? If not could this feature be added in the next
service pack or another update. If that is not possible it should be added
to Vista, although I realy hope it comes out on XP as I don't think I will be
able to get Vista for sometime.

Re: File "browse" window

Hello Stephen,

The common dialog box places bar can be customized by TweakUI. Download
TweakUI at the following location:

Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP

Re: File "browse" window

I have it. What I want is for programs to customize it themselves. I want
Word's buttons to goto the places I use Word most, and IE's buttons to goto
the places I use IE the most etc...

Re: File "browse" window

That would be application dependant and is currently not offered in the
native Windows programs or the Office suite.
