Don't remember login for XP Pro

I aquired a computer from my old office. I don't remember my original user
password and do not know the Administrator password. I'm locked-out and the
XP pro disk is not automatically starting up to override the fact I don't
know the address. Any suggestions? BTW, leaving the password blank does not
work.
Thank you.

http://www.petri.co.il/forgot_admini...r_password.htm
Because you can't even access the built-in Administrator account, you can
skip the first step and try those free tools.

Try re-installing windows, place the installation CD in before your
windows loads. You can't overide those passwords. Did you try safemode,
sometimes it give you an extra login.

Re: Don't remember login for XP Pro

Still not opening the CD automatically...in Safe Mode I get the same Log On
to Windows screen. Can the CD be forced to start?

The best practice with a used computer is to clean-install Windows.

http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/...alling_Windows -
What you will need on-hand

If you don't want to do that, you can change the built-in Administrator
password to a blank with NTpasswd.
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

You will need to go into the BIOS and change the boot order for the
computer to boot from bootable CDs such as NTpasswd or the XP
installation CD. How you do this depends on your particular computer
but it is a keypress (or combination of keypresses) when the computer
first starts up.
