Odd Entry Listing On HDD

Hi people ,

I have just installed a new second hand 40 Gb HDD on my machine as a slave
on the secondary IDE channel , the machine is a older P3 1 Ghz duel boot
machine running XP Pro SP2 and Linux.

The HDD works good and there is nothing wrong with it performance / access
wise , but what I have found with it is that when you view the HDD listing
in Explorer , the first entry in the listing is named "Unspecified" and it
has a blue line underneath of it and then after that there are the listing
for all the other Folders / files.

The HDD was originally formatted with NTFS file system and I repartitioned
and formatted the HDD as a FAT32 file system so that it can be compatible
with my Linux HDD.

I have also repartitioned the HDD in Linux using cylinder addresses for the
partition size and then formatted as FAT32 again and still this
"Unspecified" entry comes up when viewing the HDD in Explorer.

Viewing the partition info in Disk Management , shows no unusual entries and
the display comes up with a healthy FAT32 file system and one primary
partition that takes up the whole of the HDD , there is no entries for the
"Unspecified" listing like you do when viewing the HDD in Explorer.

The only other odd thing that I have noticed is that in the properties
sections for all the HDDs , the location for this HDD has the same location
address of one of the other HDDs.
Primary IDE Channel
Master - location (0)0
Slave - location (1) 1

Secondary IDE Channel
Master - CD/DVD combo
Slave - location (1) 1 - the one with the "Unspecified" entry

Does anybody know if this listing of "Unspecified" is the result of
converting the file system from NTFS to FAT 32 ? or is it a problem with the
way in which it is listed when using the location of the HDD.

And does anybody know how to get rid of this "Unspecified" listing.

Thanks.
