I would appreciate it if somebody could point me in the right direction on
this issue.

I have a Sony Vaio with Windows XP Pro on it. Our IT guy recently put a
Matrox dual monitor card in it. I had been using the computer for about a
month without any issues. Dual Monitors were working fine. Then one day my
hard drive failed on me. He took the computer back, got a new hard drive
and reinstalled XP Pro and the dual monitor drivers.

Now something strange is happening.

When a window is maximized on the left hand monitor, the right edge of that
maximized window bleeds over onto the left side of the right hand monitor.
About 2 or 3 tenths of a centimeter in width. And visa-versa, when a window
is maximized on the right hand monitor, the left edge of that window bleeds
over on to the right side of the left hand monitor. So if you have a
maximized window on both monitors, one of the windows always looks like it
is slightly covering the other one. Depending on which one has focus.

On a side note, the taskbar does not bleed over to the other monitor. Only
maximized windows such as a browser, word, notepad, etc.

I asked our IT guy if he could help me with the issue. He said it looked
normal to him. Trust me, it's not normal.

Any configuration suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

From recollection there is an option in the Matrox tools/options (should be
in your task bar) to change how an app opens on a display

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I noticed in the Matrox
control panel, that there was an attribute set to "Maximize windows across
all displays". Once I turned that off, the edge of the window stopped
moving over to the other display, and visa-versa.

Hope this info helps somebody else out in the future.
